How to use this calculator

- Enter your real schedule. The classic assumption is 40 hours and 52 weeks, but if you reliably work 35 hours, or take two unpaid weeks, the honest numbers change the answer by thousands of dollars.

The formula
One multiplication, applied in whichever direction you need:
annual salary = hourly rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year
hourly rate = annual salary ÷ (hours per week × paid weeks per year)
At the standard full-time schedule, 40 × 52 = 2,080 paid hours a year — the constant behind every quick conversion. It gives a handy mental shortcut: double the hourly rate and read it as thousands. $25/hour → about $50k (the exact figure is $52,000, because doubling uses 2,000 hours instead of 2,080).

- Paid hours: 40 × 52 = 2,080
