"A pallet" is not a standard unit — it is whatever the farm stacks. 400, 450 and 500 sq ft pallets all exist, and on a 2,000 sq ft lawn the difference between assuming 500 and receiving 400 is a whole missing pallet. Ask the farm for the coverage figure and order in square feet, not pallets.
Weight: plan like it is gravel, not groceries

- A pallet does not go in a pickup. One pallet can exceed a half-ton truck's entire payload. This is a delivery item.
- The truck needs a landing spot — solid, reachable, and close to the lawn, because every extra yard is a wheelbarrow trip. A pallet jack does not roll on grass.
- Wet sod after rain weighs the top of the range. If you are hauling part-orders yourself, weigh that fact against your suspension.
The clock starts at cutting

- If a delay is forced, unstack the pallet into a single layer in shade and keep it damp — it buys a day, not a weekend.
